I visited Athens in 2009, in the month of June. It was already during the economic crisis, which had already started in 2008. Still, the great "Greek crisis" was yet to come. Though, its signs were everywhere.

Greece is a beautiful country and although Athens has some high value ancient attractions, I think the best assets of the country are still outside the capital.
