My Escapes Greece Greek Week Athens One Day in Athens Street Art in Athens

Street Art in Athens

December 3, 2016
[...]

Whenever I remember the beautiful street art in Athens, I can't help recalling the memory of breaking my DSLR camera on a slope...

I was wandering towards Gazi Technopolis along the Ermou Road, when I stopped for the sake of immortalizing the awe-inspiring artwork on the walls you can see on the first 5 photos below...

The quality of the graffiti has stunned me and I wanted to photograph myself near it (I had a tripod with me, of course). But after having set the timer and ran away from the camera (which wasn't well secured to the tripod), the camera fell on its "nose".

That unmistakable sound of the DSLR lens hitting the cobbled road still rings in my ears, as I watch my photos...

Graffiti wall with shopping cart

My favourite part of the entire graffiti - the shopping cart is real, not part of the artwork

Graffiti writing, Athens

Ordinary graffiti writing. Couldn't call it beautiful, but the wall would sure be uglier without it!
