My Escapes Italy Naples, Islands, Pizza and Camorra! Capri Capri - the "Gem Island" Back to Naples
Back to Naples
On my last day, I spent as much time exploring Capri as possible. The last fast ship was returning to Naples at around 17:00 and I hurried to the port.
This was another new experience: aboard a real passenger ship, not a ferry.
My last day was the most complicated. Capri was jam-packed with noisy tourists arriving from all around the World.
I booked my ticket for SNAV's Orion boat. The ship too was jam-packed with people, it felt like a filled airliner.

Before embarking, another ship's exhaust pushed a thick cloud of dark gas into the water... I don't know if this is common practice - why the exhaust was pointing towards the water.
It's utterly disgusting...

The dark gas went deep into the water and stayed there, turning the water dark

No-one there (yet). Later it got filled with people and I even had to hold my luggage on my lap.

I will certainly return to Capri for more, deeper exploration and longer stays
