My Escapes Malta Rocky Dry Malta Trip Gozo Island Day Trip Mgarr Ferry Crossing to Gozo

Ferry Crossing to Gozo

April 29, 2015
[...]

Because I wouldn't have felt my Malta trip complete without visiting Gozo, I dedicated a day trip to it.
The 25 minute-long wave-cutting in strong cold wind aboard the ferry was memorable, so I dedicate this article to it.

In order to get to the island of Gozo by ferry, one has to get to the Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal first (this is in northwestern Malta). It costs 4.65 EUR two-way.

I took a roughly one hour-long bus trip aboard a Maltese xarabank all the way to Cirkewwa, where I boarded the ferry.

The time interval between boat departures varies (for instance: it can be 45 minutes, an hour or even longer). Best thing is to check (constantly updated) this timetable.
