Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar
The Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar is a 16th century convent just across the Dom Luís Bridge, right at the edge of Vila Nova de Gaia.
It wasn't at all impressive, but I was more interested in the views from up there...
The monastery is the most prominent attraction of the city of Vila Nova de Gaia and, it was built between 1538-1672 as a replica to the Church of Santa Maria Redonda in Rome, Italy.
But, as I said: I came here mostly for the beautiful views.
