My Escapes Singapore Bustling, Colourful Singapore Suntec City and the Convention Centre
Suntec City and the Convention Centre
After a long long rest following the 11 hour-long flight, I went out to check the ad:tech event's location.
It was the closest to my hotel from all my "hotspots" marked on my Google Earth map... So, why not start my Singapore exploration here?
Suntec City is a small development rather than a city... Some call it a business district, but it's rather a complex of several buildings - part of the large Downtown Core of Singapore.

The Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (this is its website, by the way) was finalized in 1997. This was the venue where they held ad:tech 2011, part of the reason why I visited Singapore that summer in 2011...
Getting closer...

To get to the convention centre, I first got off at City Hall MRT station for the sake of having a meal, but actually its easier accessible through the Nicoll Highway station.

Although my trip was almost exactly 3 years ago - I feel as this happened yesterday!
The convention centre building is home to several fine bars, cafes and restaurants, conference halls, it's also partly a shopping mall. It has 4 levels.
The ad:tech afterparty was held at Harry's Bar. A great place that I recommend to anyone.
Concrete jungle, indeed. And lots and lots of green plants...

The ad:tech 2011 event started in the early hours the next day and was a two day event.
Because after Singapore I intended to fly to Kuala Lumpur, I had to buy myself a plane ticket, but my only two bank cards didn't work online for some reason (?!). This is why I recommend anyone to take at least 3 on any trip! Just in case... 2 can get blocked or not work, but the 3rd one can save you.
Luckily, during the firs conference day, I had a few available minutes to buy myself the ticket from a local travel agent - suggested by my new friend, Harry from Malaysia (actually from the exotic island of Penang)!
After checking the location out, looking around and finding the exact spot of the conference, I proceeded (for the first time) to the Marina Bay.
