An Alluring Art Nouveau Wooden Door in Alicante
Wandering along the Alicante Rambla, photographing the buildings, a friendly local woman approached me and attracted my attention to a special attraction - a beautiful Art Nouveau wooden door.
This is a sort of attraction that most people pass by. Some may notice the beauty, but not how rare, how special a carved Art Nouveau door is.
It's a beautiful piece of art. And it's Art Nouveau, a style to which I have an obsessive attachment.
The beautiful wooden door belongs to the Edificio Caturla, build in 1940 - designed by Juan Vidal and Julio Ruíz Olmos.
Unfortunately for me - the protective external door was closed on top of the dool, so I could not admire the door in all its splendour.

They protect the door from vandalism, obviously. And I'm surprised they aren't protecting it even more - like with a fully covering protective door, but one that's transparent, so that we - the art lovers can admire the work of art in all its splendour.
If you travel to Alicante and want to see it, you have to go to Rambla Méndez Nuñez 12, where the Edificio Caturla (whose door it actually is) can be found.

The beautiful door. Part of it, at least.
