My Escapes Spain Costa Blanca Summer Heat Benidorm Benidorm During the Late Hours

Benidorm During the Late Hours

December 26, 2014
[...]

When the Sun goes down, the aerodynamic dorises ditch the beach and the panorama gets lit up... in Benidorm.
During the late hours, Benidorm turns into a different city.

While during the day, Benidorm's leading Levante Beach is jam-packed with people laying in the sun, in late afternoon I experienced a gradual change of atmosphere, lights, sounds...

Benidorm is like another place in the late hours...

"Of course, it's obvious", many would say. But I mean in a deeper sense. In a more artistic, melancholic sense.

The crunchy Latinas with artistical bodies have left the beach... What to do now?

Admire the colours of dusk, walk the empty beach. It's fun!

It's quiet, it's relaxing. Some jog along the shoreline, others go on romantic walks.
I've even spotted British borrachos skinny-dipping in the middle of the night, in the middle of the city. Drunken people do crazy things.

Evening is the time of the day when you can find jellyfish stranded on the beach.

I was amazed by the artistical features of this "fellow" here. But this poor creature must have been dead already.
Of course, it's not advised to touch them, some of them are poisonous.

Beautiful medusa

Like a flower or a propeller. This medusa is a true work of art

Besides having come across he jellyfish and admiring the colours of the dusk sky, one can stop by at a local restaurant and munch something. I did at the Sirena del Puerto Restaurant.

The panorama of the city looks nice with the lights lit.
Later, 1-2 hours before midnight, the night-life ignites.
Oddly, even then - much of Benidorm remains quiet. Some streets are empty, while the noise and lights attracting the crowds concentrate to certain area only.
