My Escapes Spain Costa Blanca Summer Heat Benidorm Seafood at the "Sirena del Puerto" Restaurant

Seafood at the "Sirena del Puerto" Restaurant

December 26, 2014
[...]

If you're aching for a bite in Benidorm, the selection of restaurants is vast.
I thought - it's a Mediterranean beach destination, so - why not go for seafood? So I did.

I came across this restaurant in central Benidorm - just behind the tiny peninsula between the two main beaches.
Right there, in the middle, close to the sea.

I could hear the seagulls and smell the salty sea water smell. And I ordered a seafood meal: shrimps and calamari with chips. With a big fat beer: San Miguel.
Pretty basic, simple. Better than junk food, nonetheless.

A simple seafood meal with a big beer... lovely to have at the end of a hot summer beach day!

This meal cost me 25 EUR with tip included.

It was wicked with all those little black eyes or crustaceans looking straight at me!

Alien meal.

It looked a lot better on the menu photos, but I can't complain. It was rather funny with all those eyes staring at me!

It wasn't spicy at all, but I always prepare my seafood at home with a ton of spice. Chili, garlic, lemon, pepper... in whichever combination.

I suffocated these creatures in pepper and salt and ate it all.
It was a huge size meal. And these sea foods are very light. A short time afterwards I almost forgot I filled my belly with a huge amount of these "weird little creatures".

Next time when in Benidorm, I'd certainly stop by at the Sirena del Puerto restaurant.
