Escape Hunter Planning Finding the Ideal Destinations & Attractions For You

Finding the Ideal Destinations & Attractions For You

May 3, 2015
[...]

You're burning to travel, but you're undecided about where to go?
One of the best ways to find the ideal destinations is to take a look at your interests, desires and even your fears...

If you're travel-obsessed and you've been fantasizing about dream destinations for a long time, then you're less likely to ruminate about where to go.

But if you're just starting out: have free time and some funds, then consider my article as a source of inspiration.

#1 Romance fan?

Everyone knows Paris, Rome, Venice, Vienna, but where else can you take an enjoyable romantic trip - potentially a honeymoon?
Other great romantic trip destinations include: Firenze, Budapest, Porto, but why not - even Rio de Janeiro.

#2 Culture vulture?

Of course, the major European capitals (as mentioned above, are all culturally rich) are great candidates and so are several cities that are notorious for this. But are there any more?

For example, cities like Valencia, Kyoto, Graz along with many others are among the down-rated, yet very interesting cities for those who love art.
In addition, Saint Petersburg is, although famous, a rarely mentioned city in the travel blogger community. Yet, it holds one of Europe's richest fine art collections.

#3 Seeking quietness for relaxation?

Serenity, calmness is what some require. Where to go where the noise is minimal, where the crowds won't bother you, where you can really relax.

I didn't want to start with the Maldives or Bora Bora - I know they're inaccessible to most.

You can consider places like: Madeira or the Azores, the vast rural and wild parts of Canada and the United States, then I'd mention New Zealand, Portugal, Argentina, Thailand, Bhutan, Italy.

#4 Are you dynamical, a flaming partier?

If you're seeking parties, "noise 'n' lights", then consider the following: Orlando, Las Vegas, Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca.

#5 Beach lover?

Don't go after maps or photos. Picking the best beach destination requires more research.
Some beaches are scenic, but there's little pure sand and the water is cold. Some are all-year-round, others are great visiting in certain seasons only.

Some of the best beach destination cities and other localities: Benidorm, Alicante, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Boracay Beach, Pattaya, Ko Phangan, Ko Samui, Rio de Janeiro, Acapulco, Viña del Mar.

#6 Architecture fan?

If you're a fan of beautiful architecture, then you have to focus on visiting cities famous from this point-of-view.

For modern architecture, some of the most famous are: Ciudad de Mexico, Singapore, Valencia, Tokyo, Dubai, Bangkok, Rotterdam - most of which I visited myself.

When it comes to older architectural styles, on can't omit: Havana, Firenze, Rome, Barcelona, Budapest, Porto, Istanbul, Amsterdam - the all have wonderful World-renowned gems.

#7 Thrill seeking adventurer?

If you are one, then you're probably into extreme sports, adventure treks, jungle tours, dune bashing, white river rafting, canyoneering and the similar kind.

Some of the most popular countries for these activities are: Brazil, Peru, Mexico, the USA, Canada, Norway, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina.

#8 Nature lover?

Nature treks, bird watching activities, as well as eco tours are on the menu for those travelers who love nature.

The most famous destinations for these kinds of activities include: Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Australia, Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, South Africa, Hungary, Thailand.

#9 Family trip oriented?

If you intend to travel with your family, then you must pick places that are adequate for such activities. Some of the ones mentioned already on this page might be adequate for you.
It's less likely you'll expose your family to danger - most would cut out the extreme sports and thrill-seeking activities.
