Airbus Might Halt the Production of A380's
The World's largest airliner's future isn't as bright as its launch had promised: the orders are down, Airbus is considering to halt production
No new orders were made since 2016 and in 2017, but a previous order for two aircraft was canceled.
In January 2018 Airbus and Emirates have agreed upon the order of up to 36 A380s, but only 20 of these are firm orders. Still, this seems to be "enough" to keep the bandwagons going... for a while.

But the heavily expensive giant's production might not last much longer unless orders pick up in the following years.
The number of firm orders per year have been oscillating with a max. of 78 in 2001 (the first year of production) and zero in the years 2002 and 2016.
The A380 prides itself of a fleet consisting of 222 aicraft globally, owned by multiple airlines.
Orders reach the figure of 317 aircraft and it seems like for a while, the "Super Jumbo" will remain in production.
At a price tag above 445 million USD, the Airbus A380 is very expensive to buy and also costly to maintain.
Regardless whether production will survive the next decade, there will potentially be in excess of 300 jets criss-crossing the skies - so, no worries: you'll still have the chance to fly one, if you haven't experienced them so far!
