Activities in Cuba
Besides passively watching the places around you as you travel within Cuba, you shouldn't omit the activities - some the best I've summed up below...
Visit a Cigar Factory
Even if you're not a smoker, you might want to visit a genuine Cuban cigar factory to see how Cuba's most notorious products are made.
Some of the best factories are in Havana: Partágas, Romeo y Julieta, La Corona.
Take a Viñales Valley Tour
No trip to Cuba is complete without a Viñales trip.
Don't just visit the place, take your time and consider opting in for a guided your to learn how tobacco is cultivated, to interact with locals and to admire the splendid breathtaking scenery around.
Ride/Drive a Yank Tank
One of the best sites for reserving a vintage car ride is OldCarTours.com - a company that has quite a large arsenal of old vehicles, including Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Pontiac and others... many from the 1950's.
I'm personally convinced that taking a trip with a yank tank would be one of the top experiences you can have in Cuba.
Travel Aboard a Steam Train!
Yes, there still are steam trains in Cuba. Unfortunately, many were withdrawn from service and they are going to become even more scarce as years go by and Cuba opens itself to the globalized World.
Before Cuba gets "cannibalized" by capitalism, you might want to take a trip there and enjoy the vintage feel before it's too late.
Many steam trains were in service until a few years ago, mainly serving the agricultural sector. Various sources state that they were withdrawn from service.
There still are a few steam engine-driven old trains operating (mainly for the sake of tourism) and one of the most popular routes is the Trinidad - Valle de Los Ingenios line.
Trinidad is a scenic small city, popular among travelers anyway, so why not add the steam train experience?
