My Escapes Spain Barcelona Back to Barcelona! Residència Erasmus Gràcia Hotel, Barcelona - Review
Residència Erasmus Gràcia Hotel, Barcelona - Review
I chose to stay at the same hotel this time: Residència Erasmus Gràcia Hotel. The experience differed on this second Barcelona experience.
The proximity of the Lesseps metro station made my access relatively easy.
The area still stunk, not much has changed since my first stay a few days earlier.
A lot of noise and smelly trash on the streets.
This time I stayed on the 2nd floor, as opposed to the 1st floor previously.
The garbage in the huge trash cans on the street was smelly. Just like the last time
The building itself hasn't changed at all, it's only been a few days, so I give it 6 again.
Slightly cleaner this time.
No hair on my pillow, the toilet was flushing and overall, the room seemed cleaner.
Exremely noisy. I was near the lift and people kept coming and going... noisy foreign tourists. Lots and lots of screaming, yelling, laughing in 4 or 5 different languages.
In mid-September it was quite cold.
Again, there were no carpets in the room.
Luckily I had two beds again. Same type, same comfort. It was fine.
This time they had WiFi! That's weird... a few days before they gave me a cable.
Fine, so I used their WiFi signal, which was better than the previous cable internet. But this one was still interrupting.
The toilet, the tap, the sink, the shower all worked perfectly well (what a suprise!).
But my door got blocked. They had those card-lock doors and mine just didn't work on a day... I complained at the reception, where the young Doris immediately knew what the problem was.
The hispanic red hair doris came with me and literally rubbed my card with a coin. It then worked. She said she didn't know why, but this seemed to work.
The door lock works on batteries. They were fine, she said, but the cards seem not to work sometimes, then you have to rub a coin to them and they seem to recover!
Friendly, helpful young staff. Some of them were the same, others were new faces.
Same basic budget hotel breakfast. But almost everything is good - if it's a budget accommodation.
I sometimes skipped breakfast, because I was very tired, so I frequently ate in my room.
I'm fine with it, could go again if I choose to take a budget trip.
I wouldn't recommend this to families due to the noise and the smells on the streets...
Final overall score: 7,13
